The dogs got to talking amongst themselves recently. They were having what you might call “itchy feet”…..
Copper, who sees herself as quite international, having been born in Canada, became the spokes person for the group.
“It’s this way,” she said. “You go to Holland and see Europe. Our puppies go to Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland and Germany. And we never go anywhere! We want to see the world!”
“Hmmm….” I said. “I think it can be arranged.”
“What??” She gasped!
“Huh???” asked the other dogs.
“Be ready Monday afternoon.” I told the doodles, who were suffering from a travel bug.
When Monday afternoon came, the doodles were ready. They had their leashes out and everyone had gone potty.
“Ok,” I said. ” For your traveling pleasure today, we will be traveling via the Labradoodle Express. Brenda, our assistant will be coming along and your flight attendant will be her daughter , Emillee.”
“Yippee!” barked Mazy. ” I am ready for some adventure!”
“Wait a minute, wait a minute,” Said Gibson. The Labradoodle Express… that was a car last time I checked. We will not see the world in that.”
“Besides, ” said Trixie, “ It’s an 8 passenger SUV… their are 3 people and 7 doodles… oh dear! This will never work”
I assured the doodles that we would all fit and that the Labradoodle Express is kind of magical. After telling them, no there would be no movies on this flight and no drinks or peanuts, they finally resigned themselves to the facts and quieted down.

“We have arrived! Here is your chance to see something of the world! All out, and be good!” I told the doodles.
“Wow! Where are we?” Asked Sydney.
“I believe this sign tells us. I can’t read, but my guess, from looking around is that we are in Holland!”
“It’s soooo beautiful, ” said Tasey. “Come along Skittles. Let’s look around” Here are some shoes for you to try on.”
“I think they are too big…. ” said Skittles.
“Here, let me try, ” said Syd. “Guess you’re right kid.”
“Look at me girls! How do I look? Huh? Pretty hansom, right?” Gibson asked.
“Oh brother, ” said Syd. “It is beautiful!”
“I love Holland.
I knew I would, “said Mazy.
“Me too!” Said Tasey.
” I just want to pick a paw full of flowers!”
“I want to tip-toe through the tulips,” said Copper.
“Umm… guys, read the sign.” I said.
“Oops. We’ll just stay here, ” said Copper.
The doodles visit to “Holland” soon came to an end.
We all piled back in our Labradoodle Express, and headed back to Pine Lodge.
“Say,” said Syd, as she acted as co-pilot,”Do you think next week we could go to Germany?”
No problem.

You are CRAZY! Maybe all of my doggies can come to you for an outing to the Tulip Farm – I mean “Holland”!
Oh wait…I remember…I just sent you one! Of all of your dogs – she looks the most thrilled in the “shoes” of all of them! She now has found out that the world is more than a huge family room, a bunch of kids/dogs, and a pet store, in her short time with with you! Very cute…
But is still think you are crazy for braving the tulip trenches with a brigade of Doodles….

Heidi,
I think the next time they will visit Giethoorn!
You have to hire a large “punter” for all those Doodles!

Our “Holland” was only 25 minutes away. And a Punter won’t work in Oregon! We are missing your many canals! But thank you for reminding me of Giethoorn! It was beautiful.
And Germany is even closer Nina! 10 minutes- but I have to wait for a festival….
Good luck on your own doggie fieldtrips Christina!!! With your 6 children and dogs… should be fun! Doodles go to Disneyland! I can’t wait!

Tiffany, I don’t know that the dogs will wait until September for Oktoberfest… Scout is the one that got them going about Holland. They all had a fantastic time and are ready to hit the road again!
And Brenda, I thought you and Em did great with 7 dogs! I noticed that you were attracting a lot of attention… I was just enjoying being the photographer!
