I don't know about you, but I think each of my doodles are each so special!
Sydney talks in her sleep, probably every other night! What is it she is dreaming of? What does she have to say that she couldn't say during the day? Does she dream in color or black and white? (Now that is a topic for another discussion!) But it's pretty cute, she just starts this low barking and it goes on for about a minute.
Timmy prefers to sleep on his back. Whether on the floor, or the sofa, or my bed or his crate, he prefers his back. His legs are all sticking straight up, looking pretty silly. Sometimes, you know I just can't resist, I push him over very gently. Most of the time it wakes him, but I'm still working on it.
Each one of my dogs are so unique. I am very attached to them and realized the other day that I call them "kids." Now I never called my kids, kids. I called them children... or other names. I had Keira, my granddaughter here. She is around two and a half and is very... bossy. I was doing something and she wanted the dogs to go outside so she said, "Come on Kids, out you go." It was kind of like hearing myself! So, I guess they are my kids and my kids are my children:)
What can you tell us about your "kids?"
Hello,
well I guess I have also joined the ranks of nutty over my doggies. Our latest "kid" is Lionel from the June 2007 litter of Judy and Fella.
Lionel flew in on Horizon airlines to Santa Barbara and captured our hearts.
His first night he slept the whole night without a whimper.
He is full of joy and energy. When he goes for a walk everyone wants to pet him.
He loves to play keep away at the park when we let him off leash. He runs circles around everyone.
He still has alot of "puppy" in him and must be monitored or he leaves lots of small holes around the yard. He loves to hunt and was wiping out my lizard population until I had a discussion with him that they were our friends and were here long before he arrived! He has a keen interest in them, but has been allowing them yard space now. A few do not have tails.....but are growing them back slowly.
He loves to look us straight in the eye to ask us what is next. We are so happy to have him in our lives.
Note: We had a huge scare last month when he found an old box of rat poison that was in a shed that I did not think he could get into. Fortunately I discovered the incident shortly after he dragged it to the side gate.
After a stomach pump at the vet and 2 weeks of Vitamin K tabs he is doing fine.
Never assume your pup is safe...they are like 3 year old children, full of curiosity and know no fear.
Toss all poisons in your sheds as they will find them. This was on a high shelf but had been knocked down onto the floor in the back of a lawn mower...never noticed it until he found it. Fortunately it was fairly empty, but never can be too safe.
