The Ultimate Doodle!

There is so much doodle talk going on these days. Labradoodle, Goldendoodle, Australian Labradoodle etc! It is hard to make a choice sometimes.

Initially labradoodles were bred to be an allergy friendly service dog. A lab and a standard poodle were bred together to accomplish this. It was a great mix in most of the cases, but not all. Not all the puppies came out with the required coat. Over years other breeds were infused in to perfect the coat. Eventually this multi breed dog became known as the Austrlaian Labradoodle.

Breeders, who had a love for golden retrievers, decided to give it a try as well. goldens were bred with standard poodles and the goldendoodle became known.

There are quite a few similarities in the dogs. It takes a keen eye to know the difference! Sometimes, it’s just hard to know which dog your family might prefer. Well, not any longer!

Just like with America’s favorite dessert, it is sometimes hard to decide what you want, and you really want it all! That is where the Double Doodle, also known as the North American Retriever(NAR) comes in.  This is a goldendoodle x labradoodle.

Pine Lodge Labradoodles has given lots of thought and research to this cross. We are happy to share with you our Double Doodles. We have chosen to use two Double Doodle females (Goldendoodles x labradoodles or Australian Labradoodles)  and we will breed them back to Australian Labradoodles.   We believe this cross will produce a beautiful, allergy friendly dog, with a good build and a great disposition.

Here you can see the first Double Doodle to Holland.  Leslie is being trained as a seeing eye help dog.

In a Double Doodle you will find a very intelligent dog, with a good temperament for being a family dog, a hunting dog, a therapy dog or a service dog. The dog will have a nice build and very importantly, it will have a great coat that is allergy friendly. They come in the same variety of sizes, mini, medium and standard, that labradoodles and goldendoodles come in. They also come in a variety of colors.
